Thanks for all the love and support from everyone who came to our warm up show in Harrogate last Saturday and to all those who saw us perform on the main stage at Maryport Blues Festival on Sunday! - We had a blast!!!

In more breaking Hokie news, we are pleased to announce that the official video for 'The Way It Goes...Sometimes' is in the final production stages and will be available online soon. The video has been directed by Rupert Bryan whose credentials include music videos for Ocean Colour Scene and Mica Paris. The video is set to be included as a DVD extra on the Drew Cullingham Movie 'Umbrage'. - A sexy, vampire, cowboy horror movie, and set in the beautiful British countryside, starring Doug Bradley from Hellraiser! The Hokie Bus' next stop is the Swinging Hulsen Festival in Belgium on the 7th August with Nine Below Zero, followed by a show at Essex University on 19th August. After that we'll be making the long trip up to Shetland for the Annual Blues Festival (Sept 3rd - 5th) and in the meantime we'll be squeezing in recording sessions for the follow up album to 'The Way It Goes...Sometimes'.

The long awaited UK release is scheduled for 11th May 2009. It will be distributed over here by Discovery Records.

Five major festivals have now been announced for Hokie Joint's Summer Tour of Holland:

The tour kicks off in Den Haag on 29th April culminating on 31st May with the prestigious 2 day Ribs & Blues Festival in Raalte when Hokie Joint will be featured on the same bill as 'The King of Rock n Soul' Solomon Burke...what an honour!

Hokie Joint Album Getting Rave Reviews/Tour Coming soon

The Way It Goes…Sometimes”, the debut album of UK blues band Hokie Joint is getting great reviews in the Benelux. Most magazines are also doing features on the band for gigs in May. (see review section) “This band has found an approach that is both new and recognizable. We call that having your own identity.” (Revolver magazine, Jan/Feb ’09). “Hokie Joint’s debut album shows what a hell of a harp player Giles King is. This band gives all they got and explores all corners of the Blues.” (OOR magazine, no. 1/2009)

The band are also excited at the news that Tornado Concerts in Holland have come on board and are planning festival tours for Hokie Joint this summer. These will start in early May in Holland and Belgium. Dates and venues will be announced shortly.

BBC Radio Cambridge

On Monday the 17th of November 2008 Hokie Joint were invited to do a session for the Sue Marchant show on BBC radio Cambridge. 4 songs were played, 2 from the album and 2 live. Hokie Joint was also interviewed by Sue Marchant. Many people over the east Anglian area tuned in to listen to the show at that time.
